 Whitegate Primary and Nursery School is looking for a motivated, energetic and organised individual to become our Site Manager.

Main Responsibilities are:


·       To be responsible for the security, maintenance, cleanliness of a primary school sized premises. To plan, oversee and undertake planned maintenance programmes and to undertake repairs in an area of specialism to include, but not limited to, plumbing, joinery and/or electrical repairs.

·       To be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and operation of heating, lighting and boiler plant/equipment, ensuring all faults are reported and dealt with in a timely fashion.

·       On behalf of and with reference to the head teacher, to undertake planning and oversee all building works and repairs including project managing, obtaining quotes, liaising with suppliers, overseeing contractors and monitoring service level agreements.

·       To provide specialist technical advice to the head teacher relating to the security, maintenance and development of the site and to personally undertake general and technical repairs relating to an area of specialism e.g. joinery, electrical repairs and/or plumbing.

·       To report on progress and provide advice to the head teacher/facilities manager on all building works and repairs e.g. potential cost and other implications.

·       To assume delegated responsibility for ensuring compliance to statutory regulations relating to asbestos, PAT and legionella testing and to undertake risk assessments.

·       To be responsible for the security of a primary school sized premises and its contents.

·       To be responsible for the day to day supervision of cleaning staff, ensuring standards of cleanliness are maintained. To undertake cleaning duties (interior and exterior) as and when required.

·       To attend school premises in cases of emergency e.g. intruders, fire, floods etc.


 The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs and different personalities of the children. You will:


·       Work in a professional manner and with integrity and maintain confidentiality of records and information. 

·       Maintain up to date knowledge in line with national changes and legislation as appropriate to the role.

·       Be aware of and comply with all Trust policies including in particular Health and Safety and Safeguarding.

·       Participate in the Trust Appraisal process and undertake training and professional development as required.

·       Adhere to all internal and external deadlines.

·       Contribute to the overall aims and ethos of Transform Trust

·       Establish constructive relationships with colleagues, other schools within the Trust and outside agencies.

·       Have high standards and will take pride in making our school an exceptional learning environment

·       Is enthusiastic, self-motivated and has the ability to use their own initiative

·       Can manage health and safety and premises issues, including logs and risk assessments

·       Can organise their time effectively and communicate well with contractors and stakeholders
