Ravensdale Junior School is looking for a motivated, energetic and organised individual to become the Supervisor of the Afterschool Club Team.


Main Responsibilities are:-

You will be required to carry out the following duties. 

·       The After School Club Supervisor will have day to day responsibility for running the After School Club and the allocation of duties for the After School Club Assistants ensuring that the club runs smoothly and that all staff are directed in an organised and consistent way.

·       Undertake the daily supervision of the After School Club, developing and maintaining high standards throughout to ensure the welfare of the children at all times, providing a safe and happy environment.

·       Planning a range of indoor/outdoor activities suitable for children in the 4 – 11 age groups with the necessary resources. Adapting as necessary to support their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development. Liaise with appropriate staff regarding special need requirements.

·       Supporting the delivery of safe, creative and appropriate play activities.

·       To ensure that all activities are carried out within the equal opportunities framework.

·       To support the full care of the children including dismissing of the children to their parents/carers.

·       Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained.

·       Assist in setting up and tidying away play/activity equipment.

·       To encourage children to eat a substantial snack, whilst encouraging correct etiquette.

·       Administering basic first aid and recording incidents in the first aid book as appropriate and provide written correspondence to the parent/carer

·       maintaining the After School Club to an agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene, before, during and at the end of each session, and complying with all Health and Safety requirements.

·       To deal with any immediate problems or emergencies arising according to the school’s policies and procedures.

 The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs and different personalities of the children. You will:

·       Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build on and maintain strong relationships with staff, parents and carers, children, governors and the local and wider community.
