We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a values-led, passionate and skilled teacher within our team to take the next step into senior leadership.
As Assistant Headteacher – Inclusion Lead, you will have a central role in shaping inclusive practice across our school. This is a strategic leadership role with a strong focus on SEND, behaviour, and the development of our enhanced resource base – The Rockpool.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the strategic development of SEND provision, including fulfilling the statutory duties of SENDCo.
• Take the lead on developing and teaching in The Rockpool – a bespoke, enhanced provision for pupils with complex learning and behavioural needs.
• Oversee the quality and impact of 1:1 provision, ensuring it is purposeful, consistently high-quality, and leads to measurable academic and personal progress.
• Be responsible for the implementation, review and embedding of our Behaviour Policy, working alongside the Inclusion Team and supporting staff in creating calm, consistent and safe learning environments.
• Work in partnership with families, external agencies and the wider staff team to remove barriers and ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
• Be an active and visible member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to whole-school improvement and modelling our school values.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a consistently effective classroom practitioner who leads by example.
• Brings expertise and passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Has the credibility, communication and relational skills to work successfully with pupils, staff, families and professionals.
• Is proactive, reflective and committed to continuous improvement.
• Has a strong understanding of high-quality 1:1 provision and how to measure its impact.
• Has or is willing to undertake the NPQ for SEND or equivalent qualification.
